The L539 is a high-performance naturally aspirated 6.5-litre 12-cylinder engine, manufactured by Lamborghini Automobili for its sport car Aventador. At its debut in 2010, the engine represented the top level production of Lamborghini as well as one of the most powerful engine for commercial sport car, thanks to its maximum power output of 700 hp at 8250 rpm, with a power-to-weight ratio of 2.98 hp/kg. It has been developed from the L537 engine, introducing several technical improvements such as a new combustion chamber design and a new electronic control system. The sport car Aventador, with the L539 engine, can reach 0-100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The engine displayed at the Museum has been manufactured in 2015, and then it has been donated by Lamborghini Automobili in 2018.
