Founded in Cento, in the province of Ferrara, in 1947, VM Motori gradually expanded its engine business, specializing in the design and production of diesel engines for numerous automotive, industrial, agricultural, and marine applications. Having become an internationally renowned leader in the sector, it was part of various industrial groups, including FIAT and then Stellantis until 2025. Within the latter group, VM Motori developed the B630MS engine, starting from the A630 range, to equip the Maserati Ghibli, Levante, and Quattroporte with a high-power diesel engine. Designed and produced in collaboration with Maserati, the engine has a 60° V6 structure with 24 valves and is equipped with a variable geometry turbine supercharging system and a 2000 bar direct fuel injection system. The maximum power of 275 hp at 4000 rpm and the remarkable torque of 600 Nm, available from as low as 2000 rpm, allow the engine to guarantee high performance in all driving conditions. Its compact structure also allows for optimal weight distribution, benefiting the vehicles' dynamic performance.
